PROFESSOR: ARMANDO BALSECA ZURITA INTRODUCTION This book explains how innovation develops business nowadays, the most difficult challenges they must face and how they could resolve them. First of all they must adopt new ideas (innovation), then they develop marketing strategies CHAPTER 1 Chapter 1 talks about the elements of diffusion and what is diffusion of innovations.
Innovation is communicated through certain channels over time among the members of a social system. This theory has four main elements that influence the spread of a new idea:
Diffusion is the process by which an innovation is communicated through certain channels over time among the members of a social system.
The innovation is as "an idea, practice, or object that is perceived as new by an individual or other unit of adoption. The Diffusion of Innovations manifests itself in different ways in various cultures and fields and is highly subjective to the type of adopters and innovation-decision process. Diffusion of an innovation occurs through a five–step process. This process is a type of decision-making. The five stages are: LEARNING CONCLUSION Diffusion is the process by which an innovation is communicated through certain channels over time among the members of a social system; this is a special type of communication, in that the messages are concerned with new ideas.
Communication is the process of convergence as two or more individuals exchange information in order to move toward each other in the meanings that they give to certain events.

•COMMUNICATION CHANNELS: the means by which messages get from one individual to another.
•TIME: The innovation-decision period is the length of time required to pass through the innovation-decision process. Rate of adoption is the relative speed with which an innovation is adopted by members of a social system.
•SOCIAL SYSTEM: A set of interrelated units that are engaged in joint problem solving to accomplish a common goal
FIVE STAGES COMMUNICATE
IDEAS So we can conclude that diffusion is a special type of communication, in which the messages are about a new idea. This newness of the idea in the message content gives diffusion its special character so that means that some degree of uncertainty is involved in diffusion.
