Olympic Swimming and Diving! :) Sooooo, Where to start. . . DIVING!!!!!! RULES!!! At the Olympic Games and World Championships there are three competition phases: a preliminary, a semi–final and a final. There are five different dive groups: front, back, reverse, inward and twisting dives. They mainly use 3m and 10m boards! A dive consists of the following stages: 1) starting position – approach, 2) jump, 3) flight – execution, and 4) entry into the water. An Olympic diving pool has to be a minimum of 5 meters (16 ft 6 in) deep. Diving is the sport of jumping or falling into water from a platform or springboard, sometimes while performing acrobatics.Diving is an internationally-recognized sport that is part of the olympic games.
The mens consists of six dives with no limitation of difficulty. Swimming! Olympic swimming pools must be 50m long. There are 16different swimming events including
200m breaststroke, 4x200 freestyle relay and
800m freestyle!!
Olympic pools must be at least 25m wide! The pool has at least 8, 2.5-meter wide swimming lanes. the pool is at least 2m deep (over 6 feet)!
