Transcript of Plastic Chemicals

Plastic Chemicals Plastic is a major toxic pollutant today and pollutes the earth, air, and water. It's non-biodegradable and it pollutes the environment during production and disposal. Some chemicals that go into plastic are known to cause cancer such as, benzene and vinyl chloride. They also cause birth defects and weaken the immune system and nervous system. Plastic also clog sewage drains and pollute water in rivers and streams which flow into the ocean. Plastic chemicals pollute the water and some animals think the plastic pieces are food so they try to eat it. The only way to reduce the chemical pollution from plastic is to reduce the use of plastic or just stop using it all together. http://www.dancewithshadows.com/business/pharma/plastic.asp
