Ecosystem

Mating

Since The Red fox lives in forested areas it's ecosystem is made up really of pretty basic stuff like, Trees,Birds, Plants, Rocks, Snakes,bears,mice, other foxes.

The Mating for The Red Fox is typically from December to Early March. Like most animals their offspring has a different name than "Offspring" or "babies" The Red fox newborns are referred to as Kits! There are usually 4-7 kits in one litter!

Instead of Ring-ding-ding or wa-pa-wa-pa-pow the fox has multiple cackles that range from distress calls. Too mating calls.

Predators

Being a smaller animal the Red fox does in fact have predators. Like. Bears, bigger dogs, mountain lions, and last but no the least SUVs, Buses, Semi-Trucks and Pick up trucks, Mini vans and larger sedans.

Diet.

Red foxes prefer small rodents. Mice,Moles, some birds. Like chickens or smaller turkeys.

The Red Fox

The Red Fox is in the K-9 or dog family. The range from 12 1/2 - 46 inches in body length. Their tales length from 11-16 inches and their body mass ranges from 7 1/2 - 15 lbs.

Habitats

The Red fox prefers the borders of forested areas. Or in back yards or anywhere where they can find food or scraps. They also like to sit right in the middle of the road!
