During your trip and stay in México

° The which come to México are from the area between the Rockies and the Great Lakes, down the Sierra Madre Oriental, come to the Highlands by lower mountains and come to the States of México and Michoacan.

° Other they travel in the area located between the Pacific Ocean and the Rocky Mountains, to the State of California.

° Those who live between the Atlantic Ocean and Great Lakes cross Carolina and Florida States to arrive at Cuba.

It is difficult to tell how many eggs put butterflies females during their lives, but t is estimated that the averange in their natural habitat is probably between 300 and 400.

MIGRATION ROUTES

It is believed that monarch butterflies migrate to México because in our country they find suitable conditions to spend the winter in the temperate forest of the Central Highlands, using several migratory routes:

MONARCH BUTTERFLY

Turn, its wings have an orange and black pattern easily recognizable, with a wingspan of 8-12 cm, though there are basic differences among males and females:

a) the females have darker wings and the black stripes on the wings are also more thick.

b) slightly larger males have thinner

stripes for females and you can

see a black dot on each of the

rear wings which release

pheromones.

Beautiful and colorful, monarch butterflies are of vital importance in the life cycle as a pollinator and factor of ecological balance in forest that inhabit. They are distinguished from its congeners by it longevity; white other butterflies live it has a life cycle of 24 days, the monarch can live up to 9 months.

etymology comes from delepis (flake) and pteron (wing), by whitch this order can be defined as insects with wings squamus, belonging to the Danaid ily and its scientific name is Danaus Plexippus Linnaeus.

4° up to 9 months as butterflies
