You are the new kid at school and you see two groups of other kids. The first group is the "popular kids" that talk about other people, and the other group are the "outcast". You see that you have more in common with the "outcast" group but you do not want to be considered a loser. What do you do?

Normative Influence

What is Peer Pressure?

Peer Pressure is when people around you (friends, family, classmates) influence you might not want to do, or is not right

Normative Influence is the most general type of peer pressure, this kind causes individuals to act in a certain behavior such as drinking or taking drugs to fit in.

Informational Influence

Informational Influence is when a individual does not know how to behave , so they copy other people. The depend on others to instruct them due to beliefs that they know what they are doing
