Every fret measures out a half step, so you can find all notes from the piano keyboard on the fretboard.
This means you can also use the chord and scale structures you already know on the guitar.
A is a whole step higher than G. That means we will skip the 4th fret and use the 5th.
To play the next note, F, you will need to use a fret. Since F is only a half step higher than E, you will use the 1st fret.
