Creative and Technical Education (CTE)

in High School

  • Minimum age is typically 18
  • Most apprenticeship programs require a high school diploma
  • Get payed (usually less than a fully trained worker)
  • Program also costs money
  • Prepares students to be college- and career ready
  • Schools have freedom to arrange their system within the CTE program
  • Develops academic, technical and vocational skills of students
  • Students are taught skills to perform particular jobs
