Avocados are a fruit.
They came from Central and South America.
Spaniards found the avocado on their journeys through South America.
Aztecs used avocados to make a sauce called guacamole.
Tomatoes were also a fruit discovered during the Columbian Exchange.
European explorers discovered the tomato while they were exploring the new world.
At first, tomatoes were only eaten by poor people and were believed to be poisonous and deathly by the rich people.
