How is this Approach important & Beneficial

This approach is important because it teaches the child to use their own intelligences to figure out their projects or how to work with others. It is beneficial by allowing the child to learn at their own speed and way to a certain extent. It also teaches them to work well with others. Thus the Social part of Piaget's theory.

How this Theory will Help to be an Effective Teacher

This will allow me to be an effective teacher by allowing multiple intelligences to be blended to keep the children interested in what they are learning. A lot of people say that the best way to teach is through routine, I agree to that at some extent, but children also need to experience something new, and this kind of learning might just be the thing that will help children who are not at the same learning level as others to get there.

Why I Ranked this Theorist Number 2

Importance of Theory & Beneficial to Work with Children

Importance & Beneficial

How the Approach Will Make a More Effective Teacher

I ranked this theorist number two because i really think finding a way to keep the child engaged in what they are learning is important. And I would definitely incorporate this theory into my teaching and the children will then be able to experience using multiple intelligences and it will be a fun learning process, it might make them not ever realize that they are learning.

It is important because it allows you to explore different mixtures of learning to see what is beneficial to the child. It will benefit working with children because you would be able to line two combinations together that will intrigue a child to want to learn more about a particular subject.

This theory is important because from the first stage where infants start to explore and use their senses to stage 4 where they become individuals using reasoning and "what if" thinking they are building who they are going to be and developing or training their brand to absorb knowledge and how they conduct themselves with others. This is beneficial when doing work with children because it is a guided step-by-step or in this case stage by stage process that will teach children to use the tools within themselves.

High/Scope Approach

Howard Gardner: Principles & Ideas

This approach would be effective in my teaching because it would allow me to focus on the child/children that are not at the same learning level. I would be able to try a different approach to teaching with the child/children that were not quite grasping what is being taught, and who are lost and have a hard time with their learning interpretations in general.

The Principles are that humans intellegence is a mixture of mathematical and verbal skills. He theorizes Eight different intelligence classifications starting with linguistics, logico-mathematical, visual-spatial, bodily-kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalist. "Educators have found Gardner's theory useful as they consider different ways to present learning experiences and materials to children" (Estes & Krogh, 2012).

The principles and ideas that come with this approach is based a lot on the constructive principles of Piaget's theory. Children were told to construct their own knowledge. It promotes a child's active learning as individuals or even working in groups. "Students can help themselves, they must be offered criteria for making appropriate choices and encouraged to be economical and tidy in the use of resources" (The Project Approach, 2014).

Jean Piaget : Principles & Ideas

Why I Ranked this Approach number Two

"Piaget suggested that the rate of development with in a stage is dependent upon two factors- one biological and one environmental" (Estes & Krogh, 2012). The base point is cognitive domain circles around intelligence which is thinking skills, memory, and problem solving. The Language development which is literacy, receptive language, system of language, and expressive language. And finally cognitive development which deals with logico-mathematical, physical, and socio-conventional knowledge.

I ranked this approach number two because I feel that it goes hand-in-hand with not only Gardner's theory but with Piaget's theory as well. Gardner's theory lets you play with different project setups to achieve overall development, however it works the cognitive development of Piaget's theory as well.

Why I Ranked the Approach as Number One

Reason for The Rank

I ranked this approach as number one because it goes hand-in-hand with Piaget's theory of cognitive development. It allows the child to learn at his/her own speed while learning as individuals or with a group socially.

How this Theory can Make You an Effective Teacher

Piaget's theory is the most common theory that breaks down the stages of cognitive development. His theory is widely used in teaching today and I feel I would probably incorporate more of his theory into my teaching.

It will help me become a more effective teacher by focusing on one stage at a time. First I would be able to help awaken infants motor skills and moving on as they are confident on that particular stage.

Creative Curriculum: Principles & Ideas

The idea behind creative curriculum is to have several areas set up that appeal to children's curiosity. It allows a child to get a complete opportunity for an overall development.

The Importance & Benefits to a Child

This approach is important because it allows for the overall development of a child, not just one part of development. It is beneficial because they are able to set goals and work with social, emotional, and affective developments, as they progress through the interactions of others.

How it will Help to be an Effective Teacher

"A comprehensive curriculum can help teachers and directors make thoughtful decisions about how and what to teach" (Dodge, 2004). It will help evaluate if overall development is being achieved or if you have to try another approach.
