This center deals with words or language, both spoken and written. Activities in this center include reading, writing, speaking and conversing.

The Journal/Writing Center

In CBLA, the learners are encouraged to explore and discover concepts and ideas through Multiple Learning Centers where they can actively participate, namely...

The CBLA also makes use of the 3 Learning Styles.

This is the center where learners use computers to learn. By the use of computers, the learners gain a sense of accomplishment as they play and learn.

The Computer Center

The Art/Activity Center

This center helps the learners to visualize their perception of the environment by creating and manipulating mental images. Activities in this center include drawing, painting, solving puzzles, and sculpting.

These activities are also designed to help learners understand their inner world of emotions and thoughts.

Center-Based Learning

Approach

The Reading Center

This center deals with words and language. It encourages self-reflection, metacognition and self-awareness by reading, playing word, board and card games, listening to recordings, making independent projects, and reading journals.

According to Gardner, each individual have not just one, but multiple intelligences. That goes to say that each individual have unique sets of strengths and weaknesses.

The Manipulative Center

The Center-Based Learning Approach is a teaching procedure in computer instruction that coincides with the different learning styles that focuses on "hands-on" learning. This approach utilizes Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences.

Good Morning! My name is

Niño Wenceslao, and I am your

reporter for today.

Today, we will talk something about the Center-Based Learning Approach or CBLA.

This center promotes understanding and expressing oneself through music and rhythmic movement as in dancing or composing, and playing or conducting experiments.

It also deals with inductive and deductive reasoning, abstract patterns, numbers and computing skills.

Coordination and dexterity are some of the focal points in this center. Person-to-person relationships are also encouraged here.

Always remember, when setting up these centers, make sure that one center will not compromise the activities in another. For instance, the Reading Center should be away from the Manipulative Center, as the latter can be a very noisy center. Also, the activities for each center should be easy enough for the learners to do on their own, and each activity must have clear and concise instructions.

Activities here involve one’s understanding of nature, and enjoying and protecting the environment.
