Climax

Resolution

Maggie and Pert take a trip to a different town by train with the money she got form the magazine and attend George Harry's wedding. He weds the lawyer who worked his cases for free that concerned his work to be truly free. Maggie finds love and comfort in her new family, something she didn't find in her old family. Maggie never did go back to live with her real family.

Maggie's colored friends are planning a quiet, dignified protest that will hopefully let them become truly free. While in the protest, a fight breaks out and people are seriously hurt, where Maggie takes pictures of it all and sends them to a national magazine and the pictures are all over! her mother disowns her but Maggie finds family in her new friends.

Rising Action

As the friendships continue, the public is more and more judging.

Falling Action

Maggie's friends are healing and the word is out about Kinship's true life style. Maggie uses her money from the magazine and spends it on a important trip.

Conclusion

Historical Fiction

I believe that if anyone is wondering about that certain time period, this is a amazing book to read about things that did, or very well could have, happened. It was very interesting and hard to put down, and always had a new conflict occurring so you were never bored.
