Geology

By :Keith,David,and Marielle

GOAL!

This is the end of our

presentation.

We talked about geologists , the Earth

Processes like weathering , erosion ,

and deposition.

From: Marielle , David , and Keith.

Thank you!

Erosion

Water, wind, glaciers, and gravity all can change the land through the processes of erosion. Water, wind, and other natural forces cause rocks and earth to wear away. These processes are called erosion.

One example is called frost action or frost shattering. Water gets into cracks and joints in bedrock.

Weathering

Weathering is the process where rock is dissolved, worn away or broken down into smaller and smaller pieces. There are mechanical, chemical and organic weathering processes. Organic weathering happens when plants break up rocks with their growing roots or plant acids help dissolve rock.

Earth Processes

Deposition

Geologists

Deposition is when those sediments are deposited, or dropped off, in a different location. These processes change the way the surface of the earth looks over time.

The Earth processes are weathering, erosion, and deposition.Weathering is the breaking down of rocks, erosion is the movement of sediments and deposition is the dropping of sediments.

A geologist is a scientist who studies the solid and liquid matter that constitutes the Earth as well as the processes that shape it. Geologists usually study geology, although backgrounds in physics, chemistry, biology, and other sciences are also useful.
