The majority of peasants had little money and had a non busy life. They nearly never had a day off of their job. They had to work very hard.

Peasants in Ancient China were one of the lowest classes, they were the third lowest class. But, they were still considered to be important as they produced food. This food sustained the Ancient Chinese.

Now you will find out!

Who were peasants in Ancient China and how were they treated?

Ancient China:Peasants

Men peasants had to work in the field no matter the conditions, sometimes it was bitterly cold and sometimes it was unbearably hot. These conditions could be bad for their crops and plants. Making their job so repetitive.

Most peasants were farmers but there were some merchants.

As for how peasants were treated in Ancient China, there were different levels of respect and understanding.

Merchants however were not respected very much. They were looked upon as greedy. Merchants were not allowed to wear silk. They couldn't ride in carriages either.

Peasants who were women sometimes worked in the fields but mostly in the house. Women commonly sewed or weaved while they were at home. They would sell some of their work to earn money.

Peasants in Ancient China generally had a tough time dealing with their work and others in their civilisation.
