THE CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY HAS ANOTHER CONTROVERSIAL PRACTICE CALLED "FAIR GAME". DURING THIS, A PROCESS CALLED "ATTACK THE ATTACKER" IS COMMENCED. DURING THIS, DEFECTORS AND CRITICS OF SCIENTOLOGY ARE HARASSED WITH PHONE CALLS, OFTEN GET THEIR BUSINESSES DESTROYED, AND SOMETIMES ARE FOLLOWED.
When more questions about morality and how the universe works started to pop up along his followers, he started formulating more doctrine and founded the Church of Scientology, in which is followers could be taught more doctrine and rise up another Thepan Operating Level, (OT), by paying money to take courses in the subject.
When it was published in 1950, the American Medical Association, the American Psychological Association, and the American Psychiatric Association, all debunked much of Hubbard's book, and shortly after he and his followers denounced psychiatry.
During World War II, he studied patients and invented Scientology's first main statement, "Thought is Boss". He would use this to come up with a unique way of helping people with stress called auditing, in which old traumatic memories from "thepans" that live inside the person would be viewed. He wrote a self-help program about it called Dianetics.
As a child, he made friends with a group of Indians and became the youngest child to become an Eagle Scout, during which he learned Freudian psychology. He also traveled to Asia with a group of bandits and learned Buddhism.
The Church of Scientology was founded by a science fiction writer named L. Ron Hubbard, who wrote books such as Battlefield Earth.

The organization goes to work on a cruise ship called the Freewinds, which was temporarily retired in 2009 due to concerns about asbestos in the ship. It is being currently being cleaned.
THEY ARE SUPPOSEDLY WORKING ON MISSIONARY TRIPS FOR SCIENTOLOGY. HOWEVER, IT HAS BEEN DISCOVERED THAT THEY ARE REALLY TREATED AS SLAVES. THEY DO HARD LABOR, SUCH AS CLEANING OUT ASBESTOS, AND ARE TREATED VERY BADLY. ONE WOMAN SAID THAT SHE WAS LOCKED IN THE BRIG AFTER SHE GOT A COLD SORE.

Despite these atrocities, including other ones including kidnapping and murder that have not been proven, this religion is one of the biggest religions founded in the 20th Century. They are currently lead by David Miscaviage.
THE OSA IS SUPPOSEDLY THE PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICE OF THE CHURCH. HOWEVER, THEY HAVE BEEN SUSPECTED OF BEING THE ONES CARRYING OUT FAIR PLAY. PEOPLE HAVE ALSO SAID THAT THEY ARE THE ONES ENLISTING CELEBRITY SPOKESPEOPLE.
THE HEADQUARTERS OF THE SEA ORG IS IN CALIFORNIA, AT THE GOLD BASE. THIS IS ALSO THE HEADQUARTERS OFTHE OFFICE OF SPECIAL AFFAIRS.
Another controversial practice of Scientology is the Sea Org.
It is required of many Scientologists
who are in the higher levels of the
hierarchy of the Church. Many
children in the families are prepared
to join the Org at an early age. They
often go as young as 6, although the
usual minimum age requirement is
age 12.
His people, who had been frozen in ice to survive the long trip, were lowered into active volcanoes, which Xenu made erupt with hydrogen bombs.
The Church has many other questionable practices. For example, when someone blows the Church, a term meaning that they have left it, a process called Disconnection occurs.
SCIENTOLOGY
THIS PROCESS BREAKS FAMILIES. PARENTS CAN'T SEE THEIR CHILDREN. CHILDREN CAN'T SEE THEIR PARENTS. HUSBANDS CAN'T SEE THEIR WIVES. WIVES CAN'T SEE THEIR HUSBANDS.
Over the years, celebrities have become spokespeople for the Church and have been exempt from their cruel practices for publicity. Some examples over the years have been John Travolta, who joined in the 70's, and Tom Cruise, who joined in the 90's.
The Church has come under much scrutiny in recent years, due to the suspicion that the church may be a cult, and is illegal in many parts of the world. In Congressional studies, the E-Meter was shown to have no effect, and cost only $12.50 to make but often thousands to buy. There are terms and processes they use that are odd.
What happens then is the actual process detailed in the papers from 2 slides ago. During this process, everyone in the Church that has knew this person is asked to write a letter or talk to the person about severing all relations with the person. They must not make contact with the person until they stop criticizing the Church. Often, these people are parents and family. It is often forced, and the people may never see each other again.
You can supposedly detect these spirits using an e-meter, and expel them through auditing, thus ridding yourself of the evil ideas taking place in your mind, the only requirement is to pay the Church, and formerly L. Ron Hubbard.
During the OT III session, they learn that thousands of years ago, before Earth was settled by humans, that on a distant planet, an alien named Xenu ruled supremely and tyrannically.
OT III is by far the oddest part of the religion. It is where most of them learn the truth about what they believe and how the thetans came to reside within them. Up until this point, they only learn that they believe in a "Supreme Being".
The thetans were caught in a net and sent to a movie theater, where a 48-hour long, 3-D movie consisting of randomly flashing images played and erased all traces of their memory and gave them false ideas about science and religion. Although Xenu was captured and supposedly imprisoned in the Pyrenee Mountain Range in Spain, the thepans were never found. However, they attached themselves to humans developing on Earth.
The first step of this process is when someone dissents from, leaves, or speaks out against the Church. This person is labeled a Suppressive Person. It can also happen with a business, such as a store or a mental hospital that the person disconnecting lives by. Nicole Kidman was labeled a Suppressive Person for leaving the Church, and the following process happened to her. It has also happened to most of the anti-Scientologist journalists and to people who have left the Church.
He kidnapped people from his home planet and took them to Earth in spaceships. He said that these spaceships looked like DC-7's without tale fins or visible engines, when his downfall was imminent.
Next, comes more auditing sessions using an E-Meter. An e-meter stands for "electropsychometer".
The E-Meter was supposedly invented by Volney Mattheson. It allows yourself to cleanse yourself of your sins by eliminating your subconscious, or reactive mind where trillion-year old thepans are hidden corrupting your thoughts. The thepans cause false ideas due to their philosophy of an R6 Implant, which consists of a ""time track", which are subliminal images called "engrams" that are laden with false ideas. By cleansing yourself of these, you can rise higher up in the church. The E-Meter supposedly eliminates these by detecting them, along with pain and suffering. The E-Meter can supposedly sense plants that are screaming.
THE RANKS OF THE CHURCH ARE
- PRE-CLEARS, WHO ARE ESSENTIALLY TRIAL MEMBERS WHO ARE SUPPOSEDLY NOT FREED FROM THEIR THEPANS,
- CLEARS, WHO HAVE CLEARED THE BASIC LEVELS OF THE CHURCH,
- OPERATING THEPANS, WHO ARE NOW OFFICIAL MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH
The E-Meter is supposedly a cross between a galvonometer and a lie detector, and students are taught during OT II to use these devices by adjusting knobs, reading the screen, and holding the two handles coming out of the device, as seen below in a diagram of an older model.
The first thing Scientologists must do to gain access to the church is coach each other in a series of training routines.
These include things such as sitting silently in a chair without moving a muscle, sitting in a chair being completely still as the coach insults you, asking simple questions as the coach keeps attempting to leave, and at the end writing a paper on the "big win" they got from Scientology. These exercises are supposed to be basic initiation into the Church. Unfortunately, people have started to claim that these exercises can cause brain-washing.
