States of Matter
A rare metallic element that is found in small amounts in various rare-earth minerals.
Matter is anything that has mass and
takes up space.
A solid has a definite shape. In a liquid the
particles move more then they do in a solid.
In a gas the particles can move easily.
A physical change begins and ends with the same type of matter.
If an ice cube were crushed into small pieces the type of matter would not change. It began as a solid and ended as a solid.
A chemical change changes the type of matter of something into something new.
