The meaning of the poem is to try to read because you may enjoy it. The authors purpose is to entertain. The authors point of view was as the person in the book. This was familiar because some times I will be reading then I cant stop reading.
Captive
This poem is about someone who is reading a book and is enjoying it and is continuing to read it because of how much she/he likes it.

Once I dive into these pages
I may not come out for ages.
Books have powers over me
Inside a book I am not free.
But do not worry. Do not fear.
I am a happy captive here.
There are three stanzas and each of them have two lines and the whole stanza rhymes.
I chose this poem because I really like reading. The poem is interesting because not very many people like to read. I like the poem because it is encouraging people to read.
