The process of combining...

Addition = Plus, Add or Making more.

Subtraction is taking away, making less of something.

In definition, Division is the result of 'Equal dividing for equal sharing'.

Remember, Division in Maths is always trying to undo what we did when multiplying. Let's try an example:

Can you divide/separate the following ice-cream between 5 People?

Now try and have a go at these additional Questions!

Adding the Tree Math

If you didn't get all of them right, don't be upset!

Just Keep practicing!

Today's Workshop:

REVISION OF OUR BASICS

If the World all sets one single time for for earth, Noon would be in the Middle of the day for some places, but it would be morning, evening or even the middle of the night for other places.

It will be a disaster for everyone!

Because the Earth enter and exit daylight at different times, we need different time zones to ensure our lives is restrain in order in a timely manner.

Still a bit confused? Now, let's look at an example!

What are we doing today?

  • Addition (+),
  • Subtraction (-),
  • Multiplication (x) and
  • Division (/).
  • Decimals
  • Fractions
  • Time
  • Quizzes & Answers of each sections.

More Challenges ahead!

Thanks

for Watching!

Common Fractions to Remember

Decimals

Thinking Questions:

What is a Decimal?

Why don't we have the same time everywhere else in the world?

What is Time Difference?

A decimal is any number in our base tenth system.

We use decimals on the right (less) and left for more numbers to be more exact.

TIME ZONES: Case Example

Let's use the different time zones between Sydney (Australia) and Seoul (South Korea) for an example.

* The Time difference between Seoul to Sydney is 1 Hour behind.

Decimals Questions

Fractions

What is a fraction?

A fraction is a part of something.

Try and work out these Questions by yourself.

Good Luck!

Assume we want to call a good friend in Seoul, we need to calculate the local time from where we are here in Sydney at 8PM in the evening.

Sydney Time: 20:00 (8PM at Night)

Seoul Time: (Current Sydney Time - 1 Hour)

= 19:00 (7PM local time in Seoul)

Based on our calculations, it is not too late to call at 7PM (Local Seoul Time)!
