History: The Persecution of Thomas Scott

In Our most honest opinions, we had the right to stop Thomas Scott.

"He was a fool, like the rest of the Europeans."

"He would have ruined our only chance at independence. He HAD to be stopped."

Thomas Scott. One of the main causes of the fall of The Red River Settlement.

He was also one of the reasons that Louis Riel was executed.

And the reason that the Métis are considered to be nothing but "murderers."

Do not let his mild mannered apperance fool you, this man cannot be reasoned with.

AND HERE IS WHY....

He did not follow the rules of the province.

We had freed him and put him on parole. He was free to do whatever he wanted in our temporary settlement.

But HE would not even respect that.

He still plotted, waiting to overthrow the Meti people.

He brought his group with him, to cause havoc and overthrow our government.

We arrested him again, but his insubordination forced us to raise our hand.

We executed him before anymore damage could be done.

But it was not the right thing to do.

We had stopped that abhorrent Thomas Scott, But we lost a brave man in the process.

Louis Riel was a brave, sympathetic man.

He stook up for the Meti people when no one would.

Did our people really deserve to lose a man like this?

Did that bigoted Thomas Scott's execution really lead to the death of a great man?

Maybe things would have been different, had Scott and co. not arrived.

Louis Riel woul have still been alive, and the Meti would still have their land.

But, we can still dream.

The END.

And here are the ways....

But he would not even respect that.

"His foolish behaviour should NOT have made him sympathetic!"
