A call goes out to Canada
It comes from out the soil—
Come and join the ranks through all the land
To fight for those who toil
Come on farmer, soldier, labourer,
From the mine and factory,
And side by side help swell the tide—
C.C.F. to Victory
This is the kind of propaganda that was used to strengthen the party's popularity
For listening to my Presentation!
Leaders of The CCF/NDP
Communist or Pacifist
The Great Depression Who is to Blame ?
One problem the CCF faced is that other parties labeled them as communists to strengthen their popularity while decreasing the CCF's popularity as the western world were generally scared of communists and didnt want to have anything to do with them. In fact the CCF was a party that believed in pacifism or non violence and really didn't have an interest in a violent revolution. While these other parties picked on the similarities like taking over transportation, electrical, communications, insurance, medical services so many others feared this was the first step in dismantling capitalism. Which turned out not to be the case
The CCF's main campaign hook was about the great depression and who was a fault and the CCF's opinion was that the rich were to blame for the Great Depression because it was the rich people who owned the banks and major industries and they wanted ordinary people to run these sectors of daily life while the Fascist parties blamed the Great Depression on the poor and wanted to deport immigrants and appoint a strong leader

CCF Drop In Popularity Leading to Merger
Humble Beginnings
As WWII approached that signified the end of the Great Depression because of all the jobs that were created to supply the army with the necessary ammunition and materials for war so a lot of jobs were created in terms of munitions factories. Then as WWII ended the popularity of the CCF decreased significantly and this lead to the amalgamation of the CCF (Cooperative Commonwealth Fderation) and the CLC (Canadian Labour Congress) to form the NDP (New Democratic Party of Canada)
As Close as they have ever come
The CCF has always been a somewhat strong force in the political landscape usually coming third behind the conservatives then the liberals in that order. This past election in 2011 it was the closest the NDP (CCF or CLC) have ever come to winning the election by beating out the liberals but not the conservatives while currently the NDP is ran by Thomas Mulcair
