8th Graders and 6th Graders are almost always friends. This is because the majority of people are two years apart from their siblings. 7th Graders are like the weird cousins of the family no one likes to talk about.
The first day of school, all of the 8th Graders (and some of the 7th Graders) enjoy tormenting the new 6th Graders. It only lasts a week or so. The best thing for a 6th Grader to do during this time period is keep their head down and focus on making friends in their grade. The only time it's a good idea for a 6th Grader to befriend someone older at the beginning of school is if they know them from outside of school.
Good news for nerds everywhere: No one ever gets thrown into trashcans at JHMS.
My three years in middle school have taught me a lot. I've learned to be organized, resilient and a bunch of other good qualities. I hope that this presentation teaches others about what they need to know to survive middle school.

It's important to keep good grades. If you have good grades, you can participate in more school activities, keep your parents happy and get to hang out with your friends more.
