- In late 2004, Petrom was privatized by the Romanian state and sold to Austrian oil company OMV

- From 1 January 2010, the company changed its name to OMV Petrom

- In late January 2010, Petrom's shares (16.5%) were bought by a Polish investor and Petrom opened offices in Poland and South - Central Europe under a different name Royal Dutch Shell.

We will focus our efforts on consolidating and expanding the hydrocarbons business, on business portfolio diversification from fuels to gas and power, on improving efficiency and maximizing the integration value in all units.

Dorobantu wind park is located in Dobrogea country, 50 km North-West of Constanţa, in the vicinity of Dorobanţu village. The site benefits from special wind conditions.

Distributors: 550 distribution stations in Romania and 269 in affiliated countries.

Refining&Marketing: OMV Petrom S.A. operates two refineries in the most strategic industrial area, located in the South-Central region of Romania. The rated capacity of Petrobrazi is 4.5 mn tons/year and of Arpechim is 3.5 mn tons/year.

Crude oil is distributed to the refineries mainly through a crude pipeline network or railways tankers. Product delivery is done by railcar and truck.

Political-legal Forces: Petrom has a governmental policy that encourage investment in certain sectors.

• Petrom is the leader of the Romanian retail market, with a network of about 500 filling stations. On a market which faces increasing competition from players such as Rompetrol, Lukoil, Mol and Agip, Petrom retains a strong competitive edge in terms of offering the best value for money products within the best located filling stations.

• On the Wholesale market, Petrom is a major business partner for companies and institutions acting in economy sectors such as Transportation, Industry, Construction and Mining, Agriculture or Public and Civil Authorities. Through its network of regional storage facilities or directly from the 2 refineries, Petrom delivers petroleum products to more than 5500 business customers.

We discover, produce and process oil & gas and distribute fuels and other oil products in order to provide Romania and neighboring regions with energy and mobility. The sustainable and profitable growth of our company is of benefit to our shareholders, customers, employees and the Romanian economy in general and is therefore at the focus of all our activities.
