Learning Objective: You will be able to use Boolean Operations to build complex objects.

Essential Question: What tools can we use to simplify the solution process to increasingly complex design?

Do Now: Today you will submit your completed ring design for 3D printing! Will all of the orientations below allow us to successfully 3D print our ring? Why or why not?

Unit 3: Solid Modeling

Followup: Aside from orientation, what other considerations should we take into account before finalizing our design for 3D printing?

Boolean Operations: Monogram Ring

Due today:

  • Complete your Monogram Ring and submit it for 3D printing.

To complete:

1. Go to 03.30_Monogram Ring in your Google Drive.

2. Open the file and follow ALL instructions, answer all questions, and capture all screenshots.

3. Final step: save an STL of your ring to your Tech & Design folder and insert the link in 03.30

The Monogrammed Ring

Today's design is a monogram ring. Personalize with your initials! (Or a family member or friend!)

Basic Laptop Rules:

1. No music. And no headphones - except when watching assigned videos.

2. Only use the laptop assigned to you.

3. Carry the laptop by the base (not the screen).

4. On task - doing so is worth 10% of your overall grade on the assignment.

Rules everything around me....
