A strategy or planned course of action, developed by the decision makers of a state with regards to other states or international entities, to acheive goals defined in terms of the National Interests.

Political Interests: Promotion of democracy and at home and abroad.

Economic Interests: Economic growth and well-being derived from free trade, investment and energy security.

Social Interests: Promotion of respect for human rights at home and abroad
