Psychological Hedonism

All voluntary human action is motivated by the desire to experience pleasure or avoid pain.

People usually try to conceal their determining motives for their actions because that concealment is what is in their own interest.

Ethical hedonism argues that our ultimate moral obligation is to maximize our own happiness. Is this selfish?

People choose to help others ultimately because of the personal rewards they feel when doing so.

We are not born with a superego- it is developed.

We all do our best to escape unhappiness under the pleasure principle.
