Why did the FERA have to get involved? They did it because Harry Hopkins, FDR's close adviser, who started it, wanted to aid the unemployed. He also had experience with social work, making it easier for him to accomplish the job. They wanted to provide work for the unemployed.

What is the FERA? The FERA stands for Federal Emergency Relief Act. It was targeted toward being effective, providing work for the unemployed, and also create a diverse amount of relief programs

No, that's pretty unfortunate. This program was disbanded, and replaced by the Works Progress Administration. WPA was created in April 8 1935, but it was also disbanded, and ended on 1943. WPA was meant to be an extension of the FERA, but it replaced instead.
