Antinous and the other suitors took all of his old stuff and leaves him when he asks for food

Perseverance to achieve a goal

Odysseus meets up with Sirens, who leer you in with their beautiful voices then kill you, and gets away from them by putting wax in his crews ears so that they could not hear and Odysseus had his crew tie him up.

Odysseus proves that he is himself when Penelope asks someone to move his bed and he replies by saying that no human can move his bed.

Odysseus and his men get blown off course because Poseidon was mad at Odysseus and that made it harder for Odysseus and his men to get home to Ithica

Goes to an island with Scylla and Charybdis and sacrifices six men for him and the others who survived to move on

Odysseus and the rest of his crew get stuck on an island with the cattle of the sun god. All of his men are turned to pigs and Odysseus gets home and is the only one to survive.

Odysseus and his men land on an island with Lotus Eaters who try and get them not to want to go home, but Odysseus leads him men away from the island.

Horizontal Plot Points

Odysseus and his crew go to an island with a cyclopes and gets trapped in a cave with the cyclopes and eats some of the crew.

Odysseus sees the underworld when he and his crew are at the Land of The Dead

Gets all of his stuff back by shooting through twelve arrows with his old bow. As his revenge he kills all of the suitors starting with Antinous.

Conflict

Odysseus and his men get away from the cyclops by being tied under the rams when the cyclops lets his rams out.

Odysseus and his men give the cyclops some wine and Odysseus stabs him in the eye.

Odysseus and his men run into all types of creatures who all try to kill them or not let them get home or turn them into creatures. After Odysseus gets back to his homeland after many trips to mysterious places, however he is the only one who made it back from the adventure. When he is back Athena disguises him as a beggar so Poseidon won't recognize him. He must regain back his power from the suitors, especially Antinous, and his wife wants him to prove that he is really Odysseus so everything will be back to the way it was.

Odysseus gets home but Athena makes him dress as a beggar so that Poseidon won't recognize him.

Beginning

Odysseus and his men are going home after the war in Troy. When coming back they were blown off course. They begin to land on places filled with cyclopes, lotus-eaters, and much more.

Solution

Ending

Odysseus' wife is having a contest to see who can shoot an arrow through twelve axes with Odysseus' bow. The person who does this gets everything that Odysseus had including his wife. Odysseus' son Telemachus knew that his father was back and Odysseus and Telemachus hid weapons before the contest. All of the suitors fail at shooting the arrow through all the axes until Odysseus showed up. He shot the arrow through all of the axes and then gets revenge on all the suitors for using his stuff and for courting his wife by killing all of them and he killed Antinous first.

Penelope tests the man by telling someone to move his bed so that he could rest. Odysseus said that there was no human who could move his bed and that showed Penelope that this truly was Odysseus.
