Marine Biology involves research in relation to the ocean, and their life forms in the costal areas. Marine scientists are employed by univeristies and international organisations. Marine biologist's are usually curious and have a love of the outdoors, espically the ocean.
Marine biologists must have training in all aspects of performing research. This includes collecting specimen, conducting experiments, and recording results. This type of training is provided during most college or university programs relating to any of the biological sciences. #1 triaining in America is at Sea World and in Canada is at MarineLand.
Working Conditions
The physical work conditions are workin outdoors in laboratories. They wear protective gear when working with hazardous materials or animals. Marine biologist's sometimes are exposed to diseases or dangerous organisms. They must wear protective clothing to reduce the risk of getting sick.

It is a good idea to take all the science courses available in high school and in your first years at university. These will include biology, botany, chemistry, ecology, fish biology, marine mammalogy and conservation courses. University's that you can attened in Canada: Simon Fraser University, University of Calgary, and the University of Victoria. In Eastern Canada, McGill University, Mount Allison University, St. Francis Xavier University, and the University of Guelph. Not a lot of Colleges accept this program.

-Female dolphins are called cows, males are called bulls and young dolphins are called calves.
-The dolphin is the only mammal that gives birth with the tail first instead of the head.
-The skin of the dolphin is very delicate and it can easily be damaged by contact with other surfaces.
-Global warming continues to be a problem for marine animals as it has reduced their food supply significantly.
Pros in University: Most likely to ger your degree in marine sciences (4 years of school), this program is expensive for university.
Pros in College: If you like hands-on work you will have a good expiernce with the marine mammals, the cost could be cheaper.
Cons in University: Can be difficult to get into.
Cons in College: Not a lot of colleges accept this program, you might have to go to the States to take this program
