SIDE EFFECTS

HOW IT WORKS (BIOLOGICAL)

Ofloxacin inhibits DNA gyrase, an enzyme essential to the repair, transcription and duplication of bacterial DNA

Ocuflox (Ofloxacin Ophthalmic Solution)

The most common side effect of Ocuflox is a burning sensation of the eye.

IF YOU EXPERIENCE ANY OF THESE SIDE EFFECTS, CALL YOUR DOCTOR AND STOP THE USE OF THIS MEDICATION IMMEDIATELY:

  • TROUBLED BREATHING
  • WHEEZING
  • ITCHING

In order to reduce the bacterial population in the eye area, ofloxacin inhibits the catabolic process of the DNA gyrase, which results in a bactericidal effect. This effect reduces the amount of present bacteria, which will therefore reduce ocular swelling or ulcers.
