What does CTE stand for?

Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy

-NeuroDegengerative Disease

Who does it affect?

This affects anyone 8 to 10 years after repetitive injury to the brain.

Social Relevance

- Many people love to watch and play sports

- Sports is the main cause of this disease

-Head injuries cans start at a very young age.

Facts/Questions

Information/Facts

-It was first found in boxers and was first called punch Drunk Syndrome.

-1/3 people with CTE also have signs of other neuro-degenerative diseases such as Parkinson Disease.

-One of short-term symptoms is mood behavior and then it progresses into dementia and other long-term symptoms.
