Urban cites in 3100 bc were a lot different then cities today. Cites then only consisted of about 5,000 people but now we have 10,000 people at least in cities.

towns were much smaller then cities only cosisting of a few people

In cities they lived very close together and had enough space for every one but not surplus . In towns they had bigger houses because the didn't have very many neighbors.
