Social Injustice:

Human Trafficking

By: Chessy Krutitskaya

The Holocaust:

How people were hurt back then

Similarities:

The same

During the holocaust jewish people were taken into concentration camps and being killed. The nazis would shot them in the head, bury them alive, do experiments on them, and put them into poisonous rooms.

Some of the same things are:

  • Losing their privileges
  • Threatened
  • Fear and Depression
  • Being bar-coded

What it looked like and Examples

Human Trafficking and The Holocaust

For jewish people social injustice was loosing their privileges. This meant going to jewish only schools, shop at different stores, having to wear a star on your clothes so that everyone knew you were jewish, etc...

Things from the holocaust that human trafficking does today is take people because of their race, religion, or even who they are. These things are the same because the nazis killed the jews because they thought that they were a threat to their community because of their race, and traffickers kidnap victims because of their race today.

Differences:

Human Trafficking

Human Trafficking

Human Trafficking is when innocent people are kidnapped against their will and are being forced to do unpleasant things like: Commercial sex, forced labor, the extraction of organs or tissue, and more... It is modern-day slavery.

The Holocaust

  • Kidnapping and turning girls into prostitutes
  • Forced to do things
  • Held against their will
  • Killed millions of jewish people
  • German people were against jews
  • Sent jewish people to concentration

camps

Unfair/Unequal to people

Human Trafficking and The Holocaust

It is unfair to the victims because they loose their privileges and are forced to do things even if they don't want to or don't like to.

During the holocaust many jewish people were taken/forced into camps and killed, but today traffickers kidnap their victims and usually don't kill them, but sell them.

Things that happened during the holocaust and isn't happening today:

How does it hurt People?

Today many human trafficking victims are not sent to concentrations camps but during the Holocaust jewish people were.

Things that happen today but not in The Holocaust:

It hurts many people because not many victims of this horrible crime survive, or get away. About 2.5 million victims around the world are captured in the industry of human trafficking. It can happen anywhere and at any time. 80% of the victims are women and girls.

What is

Social Injustice

Social injustice is when a group of people are treated unfairly, or unequally, because of their race, religion, nationality, etc...

Human Trafficking:

Similar or Different?

Why should we care?

Human Trafficking is more similar to The Holocaust because there are many similar things that the nazis and traffickers do, or did, the same to people.

We should care about this because many people are being kidnapped and having the chance of never being found again. We could even be the cause of it by buying cheap things such as toys for our children, clothes we wear, and even food we eat. We might not even know it but the things we own could have been made by a victim of human trafficking.

STOP HUMAN TRAFFICKING

To stop human trafficking some things we can do is report if we know someone or we ourselves are being treated cruelly by a employer.

Problems its causing

Steps we can take:

This includes:

  • Forced/Threatened to provide services
  • Abuse (physical or mentally)
  • No freedom to communicate with others
  • Being paid little or nothing

There is a list of human trafficking problems such as domestic violence, gender discrimination, and abject poverty but that's not all of it.

Some steps we can take to help prevent human trafficking to our loved ones is contact any law enforcement if you notice any:

  • Depression
  • Paranoia
  • Nightmares – which means dreams of being raped, sexual assaults, and being abused
  • etc...
