Historical Background and Interaction
The book took place during World War ll and the main character, David, was in a Nazi concentration camp.
I do recommend this book because:
David escapes a concentration camp. And he only had a compass, sealed letter, loaf of bread, and directions to Denmark. David is in the free world for the first time as he traveled across Europe. He soon discovered the beauty of the real world.
David ran away from a concentration camp and doesn't have much food or water. And he doesn't know where he is or where to go.
The theme is hope shines brightest at darkest of times.
"I am David"
David says it all through out the book.
David is saying that he is no longer property of the concentration camp.
