Now we'll review the intervals on the staff.
The first interval we will be working with is a 2nd. Intervals are the space between 2 notes. This means you will be looking at 2 notes. When you see a 2nd on the staff, you will see one note on a line and one note in a space.
Remember: Intervals can go up and down.
Now add the letter names. You reviewed in the previous section. Since the 2nd note is lower, the interval is going down, therefore the letters will be backwards.

The second note is in a space. This means the note fills the space between two lines. Any note with a space through the middle of its note head in on a space.
