Carlsbad Decrees

A meeting convened at Carlsbad, into he states of German Confederation. This barred nationalist students fraternities and removed liberal university professors, subjected universities to ongoing and controlled political inspection, and expanded the censorship of the press.

Assassination of Franz Ferdinard

A archduke of Austria, Astro-Hungarian and Royal Prince of Hungary. He was killed in December,1889. His assassination started allies of World War 1.

Congress of Vienna

Ferdinand abdicates the throne

The congress of Vienna established an international system of reactionary governments. These governments were dedicated to maintaining the boundries of Europe and stopping any one power from becoming to powerful. The congress agreed to meet whenever trouble started up in Europe.

In 1848, emperor Ferdinand abdicated the throne as part of Ministerprosident Felix zu Schwarzenberg's plan to end the revolution in Austria. which would allow Ferdinand's nephew Franz Joseph to ascend to the throne. The austrian Empire was forced to give to most of his claims.

Diet of Hungary

In 1820, Metternich called another meeting due to the reaction of the collapse of the government of Naples. He wanted to stop the revolution of Naples.

Congress of Troppau

A legislative institution in the medieval kingdom of Hungary from the 1290s. In its successor states, Royal Hungary throughout the Early Modern period. The name of the leg. body was "Parlamentum"

This war was fought in 1866 between German Confederation against the Kingdom of Prussia and Italy. Prussia destroyed German states. A major result of the war was a shift of powers to the German states.

Austro-Prussian war

This established the Dual Monarchy. It also re established the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Hungry which was not a part of the Austrian Empire. Under this the land of the house of Hapsburg were recognized as a real union.
