RANGE - our last term to review

Find the range of the

following examples:

a) 8 ,12,17,15,20,9

b) 96, 74, 83, 81, 64

c) 100, 110 , 105, 103

Range means simply finding

the difference between the

greatest (biggest) number from

the least (smallest) number

89, 95, 83, 97, 85

83, 85, 89, 95, 97

97 - 83 = 14 is the range

Mode means the

number YOU MOST OFTEN see being repeated...

Median = means "middle"

Step 1: Arrange the data in order

from least to greatest.

Step 2: There may be one mode, more

than one mode, or NO mode.

Step 1: Arrange the numbers in order.

Step 2: Find the number in the middle, by crossing out one number at a time from each side...

BEWARE: if you end up with 2 numbers in the middle ... ADD them and divide the total by 2 that will be the median

To Find the Mean

Step One: ADD all the numbers for a total

Step Two: Divide the TOTAL with the number of digits you have.
