Macbeth Mixtape

Immigrations Song By: Led Zeppelin

Centuries By: Fall Out Boy

Macbeth does not want to lose to Macduff in the upcoming battle. He feels that no one can defeat and take him down. In this song they talk about how they are going to continue to conquer new lands and continue to do so. This is just like how Macbeth is ruling and does not want to lose his power in this one battle.

Macbeth wants to be king and the only way possible as he sees it for him to be king is to kill the curent king Duncan. Macbeth wants to be remembered as a king and a hero. In the song Centuries it says "you will remember me for centuries" just like Macbeth wants to be remembered.

Come With Me Now By: Kongos

This song can relate to the start of the battle/ fighting scene between Macbeth and Macduff. In this song they talk about how "they are going to take you down" and "I'll show you how". This is exactly what Macbeth wants to do to Macduff in the battle scene.

Sail By: Awolnation

After the killing of King Dunacn Macbeth begins to question himself about what he has done. Macbeth then starts to feel pain and emotion about this killing of someone that he once knew. In the song Sail the tone and feel of the song can relate back to this scene in Macbeth.

Seven Nation Army By: The White Stripes

Believer By: Imagine Dragons

Macbeth has a very distinctive part when he is envisioning a dagger before him. He is envisioning this dagger in preparation to kill Duncan (the king of Scotland) so he can be king instead of him. In this song they talk about how things are going back and forth through there minds. This is just like what is happening to Macbeth at this point in the play.

This song relates to Macbeth due to its title. At the beginning of the play Macbeth is given a prophecy from the three witches. Macbeth "believed" in the prophecy and thought that everything it said was going to happen to him. He believes so much in the prophecy that he makes sure that his life events play out just as the prophecy explained to him.

Run Boy Run By: Woodkid

At this point in the play Macbeth is worried about the murderers that he has committed. Now having committed two, one being Duncans and the other being Banquo. He knows that he has to try and stay calm and let the prophecy take its course. This song relates to this part because Macbeth is trying to not get caught as the culprit of these murders.

The Man

By: Aloe Blacc

Kashmir By: Led Zeppelin

After Macbeth comes home from a battle Lady Macbeth challenges him of his man hood. This then naturally causes Macbeth to want to redeem himself to his lady. Macbeth then has to earn back his manly hood through out the play. This song relates to Macbeth because of how the lyrics talk about how he is the man in the family.

Warriors By: Imagine Dragons

Macbeth begins to prepare for a battle with Macduff and to fight to the death. Macbeth also begins to see the trees moving which the soldiers are using as shields. This song can relate to this scene due to the sound and style of the song.

In the final scene of Macbeth, Macduff slays and kills Macbeth. In the song Warriors they are talking about how they cant be defeated and will always continue to fight no matter what the cost is even if that means taking a life. This is just like how Macduff does not want to be defeated by Macbeth.
