TOGETHER WE CAN CREATE A LEGITIMATE MEXICO

DEMOCRATIC REVOLUTIONARY PARTY

Our Promises

What and Who We Stand For

We support the lower class, and those who believe in justice and equality. Typically, both men and women support us, along with younger people, and those who are more educated. We are strongest in south and central Mexico.

We promise to improve social equality and justice, as well as improve the legitimacy of the Mexican government. Perhaps, together we can overcome the corruption brought upon us by the previous government. We hope to ensure safety and freedom of those who currently fear the terror of Mexican drug cartels. Together we can create a better, more stable state.

In 1997, the PRD won its first governorship with Cardenas as governor of Mexico City, PRD also gained the second largest majority in the Chamber of Deputies. In 2000 Cardenas ran for president again but once again lost, this time to Vicente Fox. In 2006 Andrés Manuel López Obrador former Mayor of mexico city and PRD member ran for president and lost by a very narrow margin to Felipe Calderon. We accused the PRI of electoral fraud, due to their past discrepancies, but unfortunately were shut down by the Federal Electoral Tribunal. The PRI has also previously attempted to intimidate people through kidnappings, beatings, and assassinations.

PRI?

We believe in a legitimate government that is run democratically. We would rather fairly loose an election than illegally win one. The PRI claimed to represent us, when in reality they only represented those who controlled them: the drug cartel. Their strong suit is in power, but they lack greatly in legitimacy

Who We Are and Where We Came From

We are the Democratic Revolutionary Party. We were formed in 1988, and at the time were the only left leaning political group. Smaller leftist groups such as Mexican Communist Party, Unified Socialist Party of Mexico, Socialist Mexican Party, and the Mexican Workers' Party joined with us when we were formed. We failed in elections because of the opposing PRI, and the electoral fraud they are responsible for.
