daivd has been interested in computers since he was a little kid, so he decided to get an internship at frederator studios. while he was there, he was a animation producer and was inspired by the computer engineer's work. soon after that, karp started at john maloney’s urbanbaby, an online parenting website. the company was very impressed with his performance and made him head of production. But the company was sold in 2006 and karp left to make his own software consultancy firm named davidville.

tumblr has become one of the greatest blogging sites because of its awesome design, and the forever popular name. david karp is one of the youngest entrepreneur with a personal wealth at 200 million and his company stretching to 800 million dollars.

david was very interested in short form blogging platforms. but he waited for someone to make their own platform, but it never happened. So he started his own logging platform with with marco arment. they soon launched tumblr in feburary 2007 and just two weeks later, it had over 75000 users. In october of 2007, he changed davidville to tublr, inc. today tumblr has more than 87 million blogs and has the 11th largest internet traffic.

david karp went to calhoun school until 8th grade and then went on to learning html (hypertext markup language). soon after that david was designing websites for small local businesses. he studied bronx science for a year but dropped out of high school after a year to begin homeschooling. he wanted to go to mit but would have to go back to high school, which he didn't want to do.
