Whitley's View on Jennifer Tipton

I really enjoyed Tipton's means of incorporating natural forms of light into theater and dance. Being a dancer the fluidity of the body sometimes gets lost and Tipton's means of side lighting to accentuate that is amazing. Pulling from natural color schemes and using the lights as tools for her vision is inspiring as well. From the article I learned that lighting is a process, a means to finding who you are through art. Lighting is something we see everyday and take for granted, Tipton preaches observation and respect.
