"I wish that people would realize that anything is possible if you try. Dreams are made if people try..."
-Terry Fox
When Terry was 18, he was hospitalized and he found out he had bone cancer. He had to have his right leg removed to stop the spread of cancer.
Terry wanted to help find a cure for cancer, so he decided to run across Canada to raise money for cancer research.
It was very hard for Terry to run, as he only had one real leg and one prosthetic (fake) leg, but he persevered and kept moving forward hoping to raise as much money as he could.
As much as he tried, the cancer had spread to his lungs and Terry later passed away in June, 1981.
Over 600 million dollars has been raised in Terry's name to help with cancer research.
