  • This is our country, Spain.
  • It has 505.990 km² and 46,6 million habitants.
  • Our neighbours are France and Portugal.
  • Our flag is red and yellow.
  • On Christmas Eve, all families get together to have a special dinner. We usually eat iberic ham, cheese, roast turkey or chicken, sortbread, nougat... everything is delicious!
  • Families usually spend that night singing Christmas carols, playing boardgames or dancing.

On New Year's Eve we celebrate the beginning of a New Year and we eat twelve grapes for the twelve strikes of the bells.

On January 5th we celebrate The Three Kings Day Eve. Everybody is on the streets to see or participate in the Three Kings Parade!

Finally, we open the presents the Three Wise Kings bring to us on January 6th!

Our school is called "Juan Alfonso de Baena". We have 6 classrooms of Primary Education, from 6 to 12 years old, and 3 classes of Infant Education (from 3 to 5 years old).

One of our favorite activities is visiting Nativity scenes in Baena.

We also sing and act out Christmas scenes, wearing our typical costumes.

Do you want to watch us singing a typical Spanish Christmas Carol?? :D

Hello everybody!

What is it our Christmas Decoration and why we chose it

Our town, Baena

Baena has 19.338 inhabitants. The town sits on the side of a hill, forming a network of narrow, winding streets, dotted by traditional houses and ancestral homes. A landscape of olive orchards and cereal fields surrounds it.

We chose a drum to decorate your Christmas tree because drums are very typical here in Baena. We play them in the Holy Week for a lot of hours to represent the quantity of insults Jesus received from Nazaret people. The drum players are called "colinegros"

This is our presentation about our Christmas in Baena. In this Prezi we will talk you about:

1. Our region (Spain), our city (Córdoba), and our town (Baena).

2. How we celebrate Christmas. Traditions, activities and Christmas carols.

We hope you have enjoyed our presentation!
