Imagine living in a world where spirits live freely, but you don't know about them unless you are one of them.
There are the bad spirits. The mischievous ones. Ever wonder why all of a sudden that random puddle appeared on the floor while you are walking in socks? Why something told you "No, it's probably B, not A," and when you get the test back it was A? Why the second you need something it disappears into some endless abyss? That's all the work of Illusion and his henchmen.
Then there are the wild things. These are the spirits of those who have courage, bravery, and admirable qualities. There are moments when the wind hits you just right, when you tell an awesome joke and everyone laughs, when the world is totally spinning in your favor? This is Azyic and her spirits of the wild.
Zach just wants freedom from having to shoulder the burden for his mom. There is no way out for him. So one day he packs up his stuff and his sister and they set out for better life. He's their leader. He doesn't know exactly where they'll go or how they'll get there, but he is determined. When they find Grace, Zach isn't thrilled at first. His instincts tell him having another mouth to feed isn't wise, but he takes her in. He finds something about her that he likes. She reminds him of himself. Grace is relieved to find others. As brave as she might try to be, she needed companionship and love. Penny is willing to go with the flow, but inside she struggles with herself. She doesn't want to be alone, but she can see that Zach and Grace are more likely to survive than she is. This motley family has to find a way through the thick and thin, and influences they didn't know existed, before they can find their place. But family is family. Always.
Zach is a fourteen years old, the older brother of Penny. He ran away from home because he was tired of shouldering the burden for their unstable, unemployed mother. He has been on the run for about a month now. He has short blond hair, green eyes, and a scar across his left bicep. He has dark brown cargo pants, a dark green shirt with a torn sleeve across his left arm, revealing the scar. He has battered sneakers and a leather knife-scabbard strapped on his left arm. He feels like a brother to Grace, maybe even more so than his own sister.
Grace is eight years old. She ran away from home because her family didn't like her. She has been on the run about two weeks.She has long blond hair, brown eyes, and a small build. She is wearing a tattered brown zip-up jacket, torn and dirty jeans, worn tennis shoes, and a black shirt. There are grass stains and dirt on her clothes. Grace doesn't want to be alone, and is quick to trust but careful also. She is indefinitely glad she found Zach and Penny. She may not have survived without them.

Zach and Grace have found their place in the world of spirits. Here the wild ones stay, immortal and beautiful and forever free. But they cannot be free without Penny safe
Here they find Grace, in a dark forest at night, with rain drowning out most sounds. Its eerily dark.
Here Illusion catches up with them and takes Penny. The wild spirits find the others
Azyic is the queen of the wild spirits. She gives them shelter and a way to Penny.

Illusion:
Illusion is the villain. He is a tall, imposing man (preferably British) clothed entirely in black, with a long black coat. He loves to surprise people with unexpected twists that they won't like. He is immortal, a bad spirit, that is determined to find out the Wild things' secret to youthful immortality.
Azyic
Penny
Azyic is the Queen of the Wild things, an immortal and beautiful fairy like girl that likes Zach somewhat. She had long dark hair, and wears flowing fabrics the colors of the sky. She is cautious.
Penny, or Penelope, is a twelve year old girl, the sister of Zach. She ran away with her brother Zach because she was worried she would have to fill his place once he was gone. She has long brown hair, green eyes, and a silver locket. She is wearing a black hoodie, tattered jeans, and knee high combat boots.
