due to the unhygienic circumstances the average lower class man died in his forties
the lack of hygiene and crowded places is what caused the bubonic plague
since there was no plumbing they had to throw their waste and garbage into the streets and mostly children would clean it up
in fact, Shakespeare's 11 year old son Hamlet died of a plague, and Shakespeare did not see him because he was to busy writing plays.
