STICK TO GOD'S PLAN

Leaders KEEP doing what God tells them to do.

How persistent are you?

Apply to your life.....

GOD IS IN CONTROL!!!

  • BREAK YOUR ROUTINE. Doing things differently may help you to pay closer attention to things you don't normally see.
  • EVALUATE AND PRAY. See what your neighborhood looks like and spend time praying for the people around you
  • TALK ABOUT YOUR WALLS. You have to identify the walls in your life before you figure out how to have victory over them.

See things the way God sees them.

Read Joshua 6:12-16

GOD FIGHTS FOR YOU!!!

Rejoice in what God does!

OBEY GOD AND TRUST IN HIS WAYS!!!!!

  • READ JOSHUA 6:1-5
  • (v1) Jericho was "STRONGLY FORTIFIED"
  • (v2) The Lord ALREADY handed Joshua the victory
  • (v3) This was an unordinary military strategy.
  • (v4) Having the ARK of the COVENANT at front was a constant reminder that God was with them
  • (v5) The Lord gave Joshua the end result before they began... the wall fell because of their obedience to what God told them to do?

Joshua 6:20- "So the people shouted, and the trumpets sounded. When they heard the blast of the trumpet, the people gave a great shout, and the wall collapsed. The people advanced, each man straight ahead, and they captured the city

  • Persistent obediance led to permanent victory.
  • Our job is to obey God's instruction while it is God's part to keep His promises.
  • Stick to His plan
  • Can you be halfway obedient and still be called obedient?
  • Obey what God says. The Israelites responded in persistent obedience to God's unconventional commands. We may never know why God sometimes calls us to walk in unfamiliar ways of obedience, but there are benefits.
  • It trains our hearts to see things differently. it helps us look away from the fear of any obstacles that stand in the way
  • It shapes our hearts to trust God in the face of inadequacy or doubt we might feel.
  • and..... It releases us from relying on our own strength and encourages us to rely on God!
  • What are the PROS and CONS of taking steps of faith?
  • Obedience (philippians 2:5-11)

Why do YOU think that God asks us to do things that are uncommon or weird?????

Hebrew word for shout is "RUA" which means 'to make an earsplitting noise' or to 'raise a battle cry'...

Same word used in psalm 100:1 "shout to the lord all the earth"
