- The one political party of a Communist society controls

every aspect of society including: agriculture,

-Communism is the governmental philosophy where one political party has complete control over all means of production in order to ensure equal distribution of labor and resources.

- Communism began with the vision that Karl Marx put forth in his book The Communist Manifesto. In that book, there is an idea of what the world would be like without class struggle (struggle between upper and lower classes), and exploitation.

- At one point, a third of the world’s population was communist. However, in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, communism dropped in popularity, due to the break-up of the world’s first communist society; the Soviet Union

What is collectivism, and how was collectivism used in communist Russia?

Collective farms could go from this

-Collectivism was used in Russia by Joseph Stalin in order to make smaller individual farms into large “collective farms”.

-The collective farms were used to produce enough food for the factory workers, who were meanwhile working hard to achieve Stalin’s Five-Year Plan.

- Stalin’s Five-Year Plans were designed to advance the production of coal, iron and power. Workers were forced to work a certain amount or else they would be publicly criticized or humiliated.

-Stalin wanted the production of these things increased in case they were attacked from the West.
