About the tribe

The Fox tribe farmed corn, beans, and squash. The Fox men hunted deer, some small game, and some buffalo. They also ate berries, other fruit, cornbread, honey, and soups.

The Fox tribe were a tribe of indians who speak a language very similar to Algonquian. They were led by Chief Blackhawk, who you all know. They had a population of about 3,500 people.

The men would wear breethcloths and leggings, and women wore wrap-around skirts (note: they did not wear shirts, but they wore ponchos when the weather was cool.)The Fox tribe men used to wear their hair in a scalp lock (some kind of mohawk) sometimes attached to a roach headdress and a feather. The women would usually wear their hair long in a braid or a bun gathered at the nape of their necks.
