This poem is written in the third person veiw. It uses old english style words as it was written in the 19th century. This poem uses words to show the sillyness of the poem. but with a little bit of seriousness. This poem demonstrates great use of words and an exceptional use of third person view.
There are two main techniques used in this poem which show imagery.
Firstly in the second stanza, 6th line from the top there is use of personification. The personification is used to show how dumb it is to ask if he can ride, 'just ask a wild duck can it swim, a wildcat can it fight'. This helps get the point across of how dumb the question really is.
In the fourth stanza, 4th line from the top, a simile has been used, 'Mulga Bill, as white as chalk'. This simile has been used to show how much Mulga Bill stands out in his surroundings.
This poem doesn't have many techniques of imagery but just enough to explain how to use tecniques nicely.

When he tries to ride his bike he ends up riding straight into the creek.
