Toulmin Method:

If you think that Hot Dogs are the better choice but your friend thinks Hamburgers are a better for the fourth of July, You think that if you make your friend try it, they will also think it is the better choice.

The Toulmin method consists of Data, Warrant, Claim, Rebuttal, More Data, and a Qualifier.

Rogerian Approach:

Example:

You like to think that hot dogs are a better food to have on the fourth of July than Hamburgers. You try to convince people of that using logic, emotions, and ethics. (Logos, Pathos, Ethos)

Classical Model:

The rogerian approach consists of the understanding of both sides but you try to convince one side to agree with the other.

The classical model consists of an Introduction, Writer's position, Opposing Views, Response to Opposing Views, and a Conclusion.

Example:

You may think that Hot Dogs are a better choice of food on the fourth of July but someone else thinks that Hamburgers are better. You make a compromise and say that they are both better together.
