The Round Dance

Why are Bees important?

The Round Dance

  • The honey bees perform this dance when food is closer to the hive.

  • Using their internal clocks of the sun they dance the distant from the hive to the source of food.

Five Ingredients in Performance

Honey Bees

1. Scene - Outdoors environment and hive

2. Act (action)- taking nectar form flowers, creating honey, communicating through dance.

3. Agency (fate, destiny, crisis)- not producing enough honey for colony can lead to death

4. Purpose- Pollinates 1/3 of our food. without the round/ waggle dance bee would have a hard time communicating.
